Removing Haze from Your Diamond Ring: A Safe Approach

i have a one caret diamond with a yellowish  very pretty hue  my father paid ten thousand dollars for it in early eightys  i got paint primer  kilz on the underside of my diamond ring on the stone   i saw an answer you had given  and soaked it in goof off   ? is it  safe for the stone not myself but for the  stone to be soaked several times as i   cant seem toget rid of haze on my diamind  and or could my  hard water be contributung to the stone having dullness

Hi Jane,

I am not familiar with goof off.  I use acetone for that job.  After getting the paint off I would use an old tooth brush and scrub the diamond this dawn dish soap and warm water.  Then dry with soft cotton cloth.  It should look shiny new.
