Why Does My Opal Ring Glow Under UV Light?

Hello. A couple days ago I used a tanning bed and when It shut off I noticed that my opal ring was glowing. Is this because it was "charged" or is it possible that my stone is not a pure opal? Thank you for your help.

Opal does glow a little under UV light , some more than others . In fact in Coober Pedy in central Australia  they used to run the tailings of the mine thru a UV light to see if they missed anything , the opal would glow a little  .
Im sure it would have been a strange sensation  to see the stone with a glow. You are correct . When you come out from the UV light  is the room somewhat dark allowing the stone to glow in the darkness ?  How brilliant .. Ive never heard of this happening before with a tanning bed .
