Identifying Aztec Symbols on a Silver & Gold Ring - Origin & Meaning
Question
silver and gold ring
I purchased a ring from Ebay, made of 13K and 925 silver. It is a silver sizable ring, meaning it isn't a full circle. The ring is silver, but it has 3 symbols spaced around it that look kind of Aztec. The symbols are in gold. I was wondering if you had ever seen a ring like this or are the symbols Aztec symbols?

AnswerHello Deborah and thank you for your inquiry. Your ring is very pretty. Aztec designs have been and still are very popular. Check your ring carefully - it may be 18K and 925 silver instead of 13K. 13K was not often used. The popularity of Aztec jewelry is partly because of the symbols used in their culture. There are quite a few sites online that feature symbols not only Aztec, but Egyptian and other cultures. You may want to explore them also. Symbolism is a fascinating field and ever changing which is why anything containing them is so popular. Have fun researching your ring and enjoy its beauty.
