Miscarriage Questions: Understanding Loss and Next Steps

Question
I am 27 yrs old with one child (20 mos). I got a pregnancy confirmed at the doc at 4 1/2 wks along (4 1/2 wks since LMP). At 5 weeks, I started bleeding and it was about the heaviness of a regular period, but lasted 4 days, where my periods always last for 7 days. On the 3rd day of bleeding, I went in to get blood drawn and my hcg level was 3. The doc said it's a miscarriage. I haven't talked to the doc since then and have a few questions...
1. I am wondering how I can know it's all out if I didn't even bleed as long as a regular period.
2. Why have I been feeling nauseated the last week? (I would be 6 1/2 weeks along by now if I'd still have it.)
3. How long should I wait to try again to get pregnant?
I am anxiously awaiting your reply. And I thank you so much for your time!

Answer
Hi Kay,
I would definetly see my ob or another to make sure all is well, just letting it go by makes me wonder why your ob has not called you back in. Nausea is a part of being pregnant and not, it is a change in  your system and sometimes this is a symptom. As far as how long to wait, i would wait at the very least 6 mo before trying again, to allow your body to return to normal and give you a chance to find out what happened and what you can do to prevent another.
