Glucovance & Pregnancy: Risks, Insulin Alternatives & Expert Advice

I am Type 2 Diabetic and 5 weeks pregnant.  Are there any side effects from taking glucovance while I am pregnant? Would insulin be a better option instead of taking oral medication to control my diabetes while I am pregnant?

I like to use Insulin during pregnancy to control my diabetic patients because it is easily titrated and regulated when there are sudden shifts in the amount of glucose in the blood. However, I would suggest that you discuss it with your endocrinologist.
