Inguinal Hernia & Pregnancy: Should You Have It Repaired First?

I have a small inquinal hernia.  It is not protruding yet.  I just feel it twing on and off each day.  I plan on an invitro proceedure soon.  Is is best to repair firt or safe to proceed?  I worry about possible pain.

Hi Brammer...

Definately have the hernia repaired before plans of pregnancy. If you do become pregnant, your abdomen, is going to expand, and have alot of pressure. I think this could be a serious issue with the hernia.

Speak to you doctor about it, but Im do think it will pose more danger to you to be pregnant, without repairing this first...
