Clomid for Low Progesterone: Is It the Right Choice?
QuestionHi,
I believe I am being put on clomid for the wrong reasons. i have a progesterone level of 11 or 13. i am assuming this means i ovulate. I am 37 years old and have a 3 1/2 yr old natural delivery with no problems getting pregnant. My Ob wants to see progesterone a little higher. everything else has come out fine he says - blood work, postcoital, hysterosalpingogram, sperm analysis. Is this a valid reason to prescribe clomid?
AnswerTricia,
There is no reason why you can't try to get pregnant all on your own if that's what you choose. I would imagine your doctor is just trying to make things happen a little faster for you. Be aware of what you are taking. Clomid can put you at a higher risk for getting pregnant with multiples. If you are uncomfortable with this medication, there is no reason you have to take it. See how you do for a few months. You may change your mind if you don't get pregnant within a few months. Hope this helps. Good luck to you!!
