Pregnancy & Toothache Relief: Safe Options & HCT Levels

Question
I am 10 weeks 4 days pregnant, and I was wondering if there is anything I can take for a toothache. And also is it ok to see a dentist if you're pregnant?

And also, I had blood drawn for my HCT levels and they were 64000, and I was exactly 10 weeks 1 day when I had it done.Is this number normal? The baby looked fine in the U/S.Just was curious.

Answer
Hi Krissy :)

Yes, you can take tylonol for toothache. I dont know if it will touch your pain, considering toothaches can come into many degree's. However, tylonol is completely safe, to take during pregnancy.

Yes, you can see a dentist. However, its essential you tell your dentist that you are pregnant. You cannot have x-rays done during pregnancy, because of the radiation. It can be harmful to the baby. However, if you are suffering say from an infected tooth, it can be treated with antibiotics, and then repaired, after the baby is born, when they are able to do the appropriate testing, safetly.

Your levels are great by they way for the 10 week mark. 64,000 is a healthy level reading :)

Hope this answers your questions, and if you have any more concerns, please dont hesitate to write back :)

Thanks for writing!
