AnswerDear Nayla,
You really need to use your own judgement as to whether to seek emergency medical care and, as I'm sure you've determined by now, this site is not an immediate answer site. The experts on this site are encouraged to answer our questions within three days. I try to answer mine within two days.
It sounds like your doctor may suspect some type of vaginal or cervical infection since a culture of the discharge was taken and sent to the lab. Your symptoms of possible fever, sweating, and now back pain may also indicate some type of infection. If you have not seen a doctor since the onset of these additional symptoms, I would definitely suggest that you at least let your OB doctor know that the additional symptoms have started. I would also make sure to actually take your temperature so that you have a number to report rather than just guessing as to whether you have a fever.
I'm not sure what you are asking when you inquire as to the third trimester. The baby continues to grow bigger and the organs mature. There is also quite a bit of fetal movement in the 3rd trimester. Other normal symptoms you may experience during the 3rd trimester of pregnancy would be:
- Braxton Hicks contractions ("practice" contractions that do not actually dilate the cervix)
- Fatigue
- Back pain
- Pelvic ache and hip pain
- Hemorrhoids and/or constipation
- Heartburn
- Breathing difficulty (lungs have less room to expand with growing uterus)
- Mild swelling of your feet and ankles
- Difficulty sleeping and finding a comfortable position - Later in your pregnancy, it is best to lie on your left side using pillows for support. When you lie on your back, the weight of your uterus can block the large blood vessel in front of your backbone that feeds the uterus and your baby.
- Frequent urination
I hope this has helped you and answered your questions. I wish you well.
