Post-IVF Cycle: How Long Until Your Period Returns?

HI,

I don't know how familiar you are with IVF cycles. I had to cancel mine last month (November) and I still haven't gotten my period yet. I have taken an at home pregnancy test and it was negative. Do you know how long it takes to get your period after discontinuing the IVF drugs (lupron and Gonal F)? It's been 5 weeks.

Once you stop the medications, you should get your normal period within 6 weeks, however this is not written in stone and variations can occur. If you do not get your period within another 5 weeks, discuss it with your doctor. I do not know when you are planning to schedule another IVF. Certainly, if you do not get your period in another week, repeat the pregnancy test. Good Luck.
