Unexplained Period Changes After Unprotected Sex: Possible Pregnancy?

Hello. I have a question for you. My period is usually about 5 days long. I started my period Sunday afternoon. Any other time I would bleed horribly Monday and Tuesday. But it wasn't that bad at all. Then today, (Tuesday) morning all of a sudden it just stopped. Do you know what that could be because? I had unprotected sex Saturday evening and I'm wondering if that could cause it. Maybe I got pregnant then? I'm not sure. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

The likelihood of you getting pregnant on the day before your period starts is extremely small. However, sex close to your period can sometimes alter your period a bit. Hormones including serotonin, testosterone, oxytocin, vasopressin, and prolactin are released with orgasm in both women and men during sex. These hormones can have an effect on your period, especially when released so close in proximity to when it was to start.

I would suggest that you simply wait and see what happens with your next cycle. More than likely it will return to normal for you.
