Birth Control Pill & Backup Protection: Am I Protected?

Question
Just wondering...I did the 1st day start(within 24hrs of period) when i begun birth control pills on Dec 17th. On my pill package it reads"no back-up method is needed - protected against pregnancy immediately if you do 1st day start method". I had sex on the 23rd (which is 7nts after the 1st day that I started the pill). He pulls out and then we use a condom. Am I safe? When do you think it is safe to use no condom at all?

Answer
If you are taking birth control pills and started on the first day of your period, you are protected from pregnancy immediately and do not need a backup method. You could not have conceived on cycle day #7 even if you were not on any birth control method because you would not have ovulated until, at least, cycle day #14. He did not have to pull out or use a condom (unless you are using it to avoid STDs). You are safe. YOu do not need any backup method at this point.
