Answer
Hi Heather :)

Yes, what your are describing, is actually quite common. Infact, your are one of the luckier ones, because many women will have one period, after the provera, and still never see another period for months.

Provera, is used to regulate cycles, and induce periods. However, it can take a long time for it actually to be effective. Often, it takes dosage changes, and alot of swithching, to force it to accomodate  different cycles.

Its usually prescribed, for women whom suffer PCOS of other  conditions that force them to have a severe hormonal imbalance.

Sounds to me, your hormones are certainly not balanced as of yet, so thats why your are seeing different irregularities with your bleeding from month to month. Again, its not uncommon at all.

Keep in mind, that hormonal imbalances will also mimic the symptoms of pregnancy as well, so it can get rather confusing.

I would wait and see how your period is next month. If it seems normal, or quasi normal then I think you have no concerns. But if you miss it, then yes, I think you need to perhaps take another course of provera, and have the dosages highered, or lowered. Eventually, your system will become regular again :)

Hope this is of some help, and thanks for writing :)
