Postpartum Pain After Childbirth: Understanding and Addressing Painful Sex

Question
hello my wife gave birth to our daughter 4 months ago. our first. we have not had sex since because when we try during insertion she starts to cry and says it hurts to bad she thinks they sowed her up wrong when she tore during birth sorry for my spelling by the way anyway my step mom is a midwife and said it is uncommon for some woman to react to the sutures but i dont know what it is or what to do please help asap thanks

Answer
Sometimes, it takes quite awhile to heal from the episiotomy sutures or the sutures used in a repair of any lacerations. However, try this. You lie down on your back and your wife straddles your erect penis. She lowers herself down onto the penis v e r y  slowly, rocking herself until she finds a comfortable position. Once you have achieved total penetration, you can proceed as you normally do. Good luck. Use lots of KY Jelly if she is a bit dry.
