I HAVE 1 CHILD ALREADY AND I KNEW WHAT WAS GOING ON THEN. THANKYOU FOR YOUR HELP. LOVE SARAH
AnswerHI Sarah
I'm sorry to hear of your loss.
The first thing that strikes me is the advice that you've been given. It's advised that you wait until you stop bleeding before resuming sex & 3 months before you start trying for a baby again, to allow your body to heal & your cycles to regulate. Some even say if you really can't wait then wait at least a month (or until you've had a period) before you try again.
There may be a higher risk of a second miscarriage if you fall pregnant straight after a miscarriage, although some women do go on to have a successful pregnancy.
I assume by your email that you have not yet had a period since the miscarriage? It can take up to 3 months for your cycle to return to normal, although it's usually about 6wks. Don't forget to time your period from the date of your miscarriage, you'll ovulate quickly after the loss.
Unless you experience heavy and/or prolongued bleeding, treatment isn't needed. It sounds to me like your body is simply settling back down. Your body has been through a traumatic experience as have you, it does take a little time to get back to normal so be kind to yourself.
My advice to you would be to use contrasception for now and wait until you've had a natural period. Ideally, if you can wait until you've had two, you can then see how your cycle is looking. There is an excellent ovulation calculator that has worked for me on more than one occasion....and very quickly too!
Give yourself a chance to grieve for your loss as well. sometimes the psychological effects and wanting to fall pregnant again quickly can slow the process.
I do hope this has shed some light on everything. If you'd like any more help then please don't hesitate to contact me. Best of luck!
Kindest Regards
Sarah
ps, heres the link to the ovulation calculator, but you'll need a couple of cycles for it to work efficiently:
