Post-Miscarriage Recovery & Ovarian Cyst: What to Expect

Hi Sarah,
Hi, I'm 27 had a miscarriage (7w 2d) last Feb. As the doctors advised I dutifully waited until the 3 month period is passed. We only started TTC beginning of this month. After the miscarriage, in a follow-up consultation I found out that I have one small cyst ( 2 cm) in my right ovary. Plus the doctor wasn't even too sure whether it was a follicle or a cyst (scan was done on the 6th of the month).My LMP was on 27th May and I have fairly regular periods ( 27- 29 days) ( I would ovulate around 8th - 10th June). My problem is that since last Thursday I've been feeling sharp pains at my left side of lower abdomen area and from yesterday I'm having this dull headache, feverish, funny feeling in my mouth and lower abdominal pains on my right side. Have anyone of you experienced a similar situation ? Do you think I should go and see a doctor or would this pass away ? I'm really concerned that something might have gone wrong after the miscarriage. Thanks in Advance.

         It could be pain from your cyst or other things such as an infection, but these are also symptoms of an ectopic pregnancy.
You need to go back to your doctor so they can run some tests to rule this out. Despite having a scan recently, an ectopic pregnancy needs to be looked for and as an embryo develops rapidly during the first 12wks it may not have been detected before.

I certainly did not experience this after my miscarriage & it doesn't sound right.
