ANSWER: Hi Dawn.
Just a few questions so I may answer your question more comprehensively.
Firstly, are you getting any bleeding at all, even light spotting? Secondly, are you cramping & if so where is it located? Thirdly, when did you start having unprotected sex again? Lastly, when did you hCG test come back with the results you have given me?
Many Thanks.

QUESTION: i started having unprotected sex right after bleeding stopped. (that was 2 - 2.5 weeks ago) after that i had a light pink spot show up when i wiped but it was only one time. i'm not cramping, but having sharp pain that comes and goes in lower R abdomen. the hcg level of 443 came back on 3-27-09. Thanks again!!
ANSWER: Hi Dawn.
It is possible you could be pregnant. Women become very fertile quickly after miscarriage & you could be experiencing symptoms earlier if you still have hCG in your system.
On the other hand, you could also have some tissue remaining from your miscarriage which would also explain the hCG & symptoms.
hCG does take aprox 4-6wks to completely disappear, so it may be worth waiting a week before carrying out a pregnancy test.
I am concerned about your one sided pain. It can be a sign of ovulation but it can also be a sign of ectopic pregnancy. If you find the pain persists for more than a couple of days or suddenly gets more severe then do seek medical help immediately. The same goes if you suddenly experience sudden & heavy bleeding.
I do hope this has helped & wish you all the best.

QUESTION: sorry to bother u again, but i had 1 more question. If my hcg read 443 would i assume that the hcg level of 443 would be due to new pregnancy or could i still have hcg from last pregnancy and that hcg # continue to drop until i hit the hcg level i should be at now? (if it is actually a new pregnancy that is.) hope that's not too confusing, and thanks once again.
Dawn
AnswerHi Dawn
No problem! The hCG levels wouldn't be quite so high as 443 if you were pregnant, they don't reach that til around 28 days after you ovulate. At that level it's likely that it's from your miscarriage, but these levels could also be disguising a new pregnancy.
hCG should drop to 0 after a loss.
Hope this has made things a little clearer.
Kindest Regards
