QuestionI am a little over 6 weeks pregnant. I have been spotting brown blood and last Friday I had an ultrasound. On Monday, when I woke up I had red blood. I immediately visited my OB/GYN. She confirmed that my cervix was closed, we saw a heartbeat (very exciting), my blood levels were 20000 HCG and 21 for progesterone.
All in all things were great. That night, I had severe cramping.
I did pass a large brown clot. I have not bleed or had any red or new blood since. I still feel pregnant - am tired but my breast are not as tender.
Is everything ok?
AnswerViviane,
I would advise you to speak again to your ob/gyn. I cant possibley say if everything is alright, although please let me reassure you that bleeding in early oregnancy is very common. Also, brown blood is an indication of deoxygenated blood (basically blood that isn't fresh - new). This is a good sign, it is possible that the clot is from the previous small bleed you experienced, or from a previous period or implatation bleed.
Speak with your midwife, she may want to do another blood test to make sure your hormone levels are still rising. I am sure that all is going well! Congratulations,
Kind regards,
Christine
