AnswerHi Vanita,
Chest pain that stays for only a few SECONDS is not heart related. It would be hard to say what it is exactly but this does not sound cardiac. Heart pain is gradual in onset, stays from 5 to 30 minutes and gradually clears. The er may be radiation to the inner left arm, jaw, ear and or shoulder. The only caveat here is that diabetics traditionally don't have chest pain like non diabetics. It may be silent to mild for them. If all his heart tests are normal, I would still say this is likely not cardiac.
