Questionhello doctor,
i am 24yrs old, and i recently gave birth by c-section on september 18, 2007. The problem is; shortly after giving birth (maybe a month or so) i started having these pains in my upper area, chest and back. I didn't know what to make of it since i had never experienced this type of pain before.
I went to my doctor and she asked me afew questions pertaining to the pain, and she also asked me when was the last time i had a bowel movement. I told her over a week ago, and she prescribed several medication for me to have a bowel movement. I dismissed the pain as just being the build up of gas.
However, after returning back home to the Bahamas; the same sypmtoms re-accured. I went to a local clinic down here, where i was diagnosed with having gasritis.
My question for you is: Can having a c-section have anything to do with recent gasritis state, and if not; can you please tell me what could have contributed to the development of this disease. (I am currently taking Omeprazole 20mg as treatment)

AnswerI am having trouble following the line of reasoning with your symptoms.... pain in chest and back and attributing that to constipation has me uneasy then saying it is gastritis...... if you are being treated for same with Prilosec (omeprazole) then it should resolve in 2-3 days... if it doesn't, then I would rethink the original diagnosis and make sure there isn't another disease process causing your symptoms....... Your specific question.... CSX and gastritis..... I don't see any relationship between the two unless you took a lot of motrin type pain meds for the post op pain because those can irritate the stomach..... but I think someone needs to start fresh and look at your signs and symptoms and figure out what is causing them.......
