Sudden Buttock Pain & Bladder/Bowel Connection: What Could It Mean?

Last night I had a very excruciating pain in my buttocks.  It started in my butt and went to my side and abdomen.  I had trouble using the bathroom and had a big burst of gas come out when I went to pee.  The pain lasted for about 20-30 minutes or so it seemed. Can you give me a little insight?

did a burst of gas come out of your bladder when you went to urinate?  if so, that suggests a communication between your bladder and your bowels... that needs an urgent evaluation.  Otherwise, abd pain is difficult to diagnose in person, let alone on the internet.... if it stopped and you feel OK now, it would be safe to watch... but I can't tell you exactly what happened
