QuestionHi there,
I really do hope you can help me, I had a surgical abortion on the 26th April, I also had the marina coil fitted at the same time, over the next two week's the pain's and bleeding were manageable, not much worse than my usual period, but it's now been nearly 3 month's and the pain's are growing ever more painful, I will have them for maybe 3 day's then it will settle down for a day or two, then come back.
The pain's are very similar to period pain's, a constant stitch like ache just above my pubic bone, mainly on the left hand side accompanied by sharp pain's shooting down my leg's and the base of my back, this is constant until the painkiller's kick in but while this is happening, on a bad day I will get really intense cramp's that can last 1-5 minutes and come and go around every ten minutes until I take enough painkiller's to calm them down back to the usual dull ache, it really does take my breath away when it get's that bad and I'm used to painful period's.
I had to wait two week to get an appointment to see my GP (this is the UK) only to be told that it sound's like IBS... I think the majority of the UK have been diagnosed with IBS now, it seem's to be the doctor's answer to any stomach related problem here.
Ive had IBS before, this is not IBS, but unfortunately the doctor's over here just don't wan't to listen, why waste NHS money on me??
I have noticed a lot of people talk of having a check up 2 week's after an abortion to check for infection's etc, well I was told to go to my GP in 6 week's for my smear and to check my coil was still in place, no talk of any follow up regarding the abortion, I don't know what's going on down there, I do know something isn't right, but I just can't get the help for it.
I'm in terrible pain right now as I type this, it's becoming a part of my life now, i'm getting too used to it and I am fed up.
What do you think the problem could be? any insight would be helpful as I am completely lost now.
I should also mention a couple other thing's.
I had some bladder weakness which seem's to be getting better now,
I have to urinate a lot because it seem's to feel more painful when my bladder start's to fill up.
I haven't had a period since the procedure, probably due to the marina coil but I have a constant brownish discharge.
When the pain's are bad, I feel sick.
I took a pregnancy test a few day's ago as I was concerned about it maybe being an ectopic pregnancy, this was negative.
I am 25years old
Please advise me
