Groin Pain After Hernia Surgery: Causes & Relief

Question
Hi Doctor Glen, I am a 67yr old male. I had an inguinal hernia op about 5 years ago. All went ok including recovery. I had gauze inserted in the area.  The last year or so I've had some sharp pain  in the area  about two or three times, particularly if I'm a bit overweight. I feel Ive got to keep moving.  It's worse if I sit at the computer for long periods, but if standing or walking, pain is alleviated. Would this be a warning sign of strain on the operated area due to overweight, (about 8kg over). I'm 186cm tall, usually about 95 kg. I walk about 4km every second day, generally have good health otherwise. I'm thinking DVT, perhaps unnecessarily. Would appreciate your general opinion.  Thankyou.

Answer
You are correct, it could be either one so you would best see your doctor and cut out all gluten foods permanently, and start taking 1000mg of cinnamon before each meal is OK with your doctor to start reversing your weight problem and 3000mg if fish oil before meals and bedtime plus an EC aspirin 325mg again only if OK with your doctor to stop the DVT risk.
