Post-Abortion Pain & Bleeding: What to Expect & When to Worry

My name is Preicous,am a Nigerian. On 5th september,i had an abortion,which was 1month old,3 days later i started bleeding,which lasted for 9days.On 28th of the same month,i went for a scan,which reviewed that i had a threaten abortion,visited my gynae doctor,whom examed me and said mine uterus was empty,he placed me on some antiboitics & felvin to relieve the pains but the bleeding gradually reduced to spoting after my menses coupled with crampy pains. Doctor,i just want to know if its normal 2 still experience spoting & severe crampy pains till now,cos, presently, for 8days now am still spoting coupled with severe pains even after my menses.Have been taken felvin, which has aggreviated my ucler. pls, i need an your reply. Thanks.

Hi Precious,
After an abortion your periods are unpredictable for a long time.
Cramps after an abortion are not a good sign.Its good that you got antibiotics
though I cannot see if you had an infection. If so, there is some bad smelly discharge
and sometimes fever.
I have the impression that everything is OK with you.
If the cramps continue, see your doc again.
But give it some time. Patience will help reducing your worry.
