Acrylic vs. Nail Wraps: Which is Right for Strong, Healthy Nails?

Question
Hi! I had acrylic nails on for about 2 months in hopes to cure my nail biting habit so I could have my real nails done for prom. I got them filled 3 times and then decided it was time to get my natural nails done. My nails were very thin underneath and had a hard time keeping polish on them. I soon went back to my bad habit and now I'm wondering what to do next. I've heard about wraps, but is that only over the natural nail or can that extend past like acrylics do? I love how the acrylics look, but since I'm always worried about them hurting my natural nails so I take them off. What do you recommend I get done and what is best for an 18 year old like me? Thanks so much!

Answer
It seem to me that you are having a hard time finding a good tech. Enhancements shouldn't damage your nails when performed correctly, but unfortunately i know that are too many tech out there only caring for the money and not for the nails a they should. I would recomend that you search for a good tech, then i would advise you to have enhancements and really care for them, follow the aftercare routine and absolutely no picking or biting! Them after a while one you have beat the habbit you can take them off and hopefully the will be in good shape, of course they won't be as strong as the enhancements so you might have to wear them shorter. I have faith that once you get used to them again you'll never bite them again!
Hope i could help.
