QuestionI had Acrylic put onto my Natural Nails. I DO NOT HAVE FAKE NAILS. I want to remove the Acrylic myself. I been through the message boards I read that acetone can remove it for Artiffcial Nails. I already have the information and steps to remove the Acrylic. I want to know is it the same procedure for Natural Nails. If you can help me I would greatly appreciate it.
AnswerTo begin i do not like the designation Fake Nails. What is fake to you? Having polish over your nails can be fake? To me there are natural nails, and enhanced nails. Natural nail, are just that, nails, with nothing applied to them. Enhanced nail can be, acrylic, gel or fiberglass overlays (like your case) or extentions with acrylic, gel or fiberglass over them.
Now that this is cleared, to remove your acrylic you should soak tehm in acetone until the acrylic is soft, then you should scrape it off and then buff and hydrate your nails. I would recomend that you have this done by a professional as he/she knows this procedure better and has special product to do this.
