Oily Nails & Weakness: Causes & Strengthening Tips
QuestionHi,
I use to get gel nails , but they kept on lifting. The lady said my nails are oily..is this true? If so , are pink and whites better? What do you recommend? Also my nails became very thin and brittle(which they are thin already naturally), is there anything to make them stronger ? Thanks
Lisa
AnswerGel shouldn't lift even if your nail are oily, i suspect this is due to poor preparation of the nail prior to application, the cuticles should be pushed back and scraped of the nail plate and the shine should be removed with a soft file and then the nail should be dusted a dehydrated. If these steps are done correctly the nails hardly ever lift, except if the person is very harsh on her nails. Like picking at them or having them in water for too long. So the question is: Who is to blame? You or your nail tech? If you are caring for or nails as you should (wearing gloves, not using them as tools to scrape etc, and not picking at them) then it should be your nail tech's fault, as for her to be more careful in the preparation procedure, and if thing don't get better change nail tech. If you aren't doing all you should, i recommend that you do, not only to determine guilt but also to take care of your investment...
