Nail Extensions & Contact Lenses: Compatibility & Concerns

Question
Hi.  I've really enjoyed reading your past answers!  I'm seriously considering getting gel/acrylic nail extensions, but the one thing holding me back is that I wear soft contact lenses.  I've never had long nails (my natural ones are too weak to grow to any significant length), so I'm wondering whether longer/extended nails would interfere with putting in or taking out my lenses.  Have any of your clients mentioned this?

Many thanks!
Linda

Answer
Dear Linda,

Thanks for your lovely compliments!!

With regards to contacts... to date, none of my clients have complained of any problems with regards to contact lenses.  I myself don't wear contacts, nor glasses, so I can't comment on personal experience neither.
However, I think like with anything 'new', it's likely that there would be a period of adjustment when you first try to put contacts in while having enhancements.

Perhaps start with a 'sport' or 'active' length, that just barely passes the ends of your fingers. It might be easier for you to get to get used to them that way AND you'd have an easier time using your 'finger pads' to put in your contacts?
Then gradually go longer?

I do hope this answer helps.
Please feel free to contact me again.
Best regards
Victoria
