QuestionI started with light concept which was very convenient, every 3 weeks. After approx.1-l/1 years I developed a bad rash, itching, redness around my cuticle area and on the top of my finger. Could not give up the manicured nails and tried powder, which worked quite well in the beginning and then allergy reaction.I gave in and kept natural nails (which mine are extremely unattractive) for about 1 year. I thought being away from the chemicals would readjust my body tolerance. I am now getting the powder again and my hands are a mess, itching, redness and open sores on my fingertips.I have been using quite a bit of antibiotic cream, I had a great ointment from a dermatologist, but misplaced it. Do you think I should just give up or are there certain products I can ask to be used. Or should I switch nail salons, in the hope that they use different products. Thanks for your help
AnswerHi Elizabeth!
It sounds to me like you have a bonafide allergy sweetie. And once you have an allergy, you will ALWAYS have an allergy.
This type of allergy did not have to occur, and only happens by your skin being repeatedly exposed to uncured product.
If you are dead set on having your nails enhanced, I would start by finding out from an Allergy Specialist if this IS indeed an allergy. If it is a built up sensitivity, you could still avoid an allergy to nail product.
If the allergy specialist gives you the ok, then from there I would find a Master in UV Brisa Application. This UV Gel is hypoallergenic(just an FYI, the term "hypo" does NOT mean NON- allergenic, it just means less likely to cause allergy), and is because of it's low amount of photoinitiator, and lack of the ingredients gluteraldehyde and formaldehyde, which are common allergy causers.
It is important to seek out a tech that has specifically trained in the use of this product, and also mastered natural nail care, as they will best know how to apply the product without putting you in harms way.
Now go see that Dr., and let me know if i can help you further by finding a Master Brisa Tech in your area.
Good luck!
