QuestionCan you tell me the difference between acrylics and a product called backscratcher? Is one better on your natural nail than the other?
Thanks!
AnswerWanna hear something funny?
Backscratchers resins/adhesives, along with any UV Gel, and Liquid and Powder enhancements(AKA ACRYLIC NAILS) are all in the same chemical family. ACRYLIC.
No one product is better than the other, or safer for that matter.
The difference between all of these products is their monomers.
Liquid and Powder enhancements use a polymer powder with a liquid monomer to create a tough but flexible coating that mimics the natural nail.
UV Gels are Oligomer chains cured by UV light. Oligomers are single chains that contain many monomers.
Resins and powders used in Backscratchers wraps and powder dip systems are called cyanoacrylates, an do not have the advantage of crosslinking like polymers and oligomers, making them far more susceptible to breakage, yellowing, and lifting.
Hope this is helpful! Please let me know if I can break it down any easier :)
