QuestionQUESTION: Hi Amber
Can you tell me what things I have to keep in mind when giving an enhancement to a client who has very little toe nail on her big toe.Im a nail tech but unfortunately I don't remember learning that.I have a client who wants it.
thanks
Jas
ANSWER: Hi Jas,
There is a product out called Pedique it is made for toenails
there is a slow release anti fungal agent in it so that whomever you put
this product on will never get a mold or fungus from the
product! Pedique can also be put directly on the skin and will stay pretty
well! LCN makes pedique! I would not suggest useing acrylic I feel that
it is too hard, pedique is flexible which makes it more comfortable
when the client wears shoes! Make sure that if the client has any fungus that they
have it taken care of before you put on any product !

QUESTION: Hi Amber, thanks for the info about pedique.so do I have to smooth the nail down thin ,before going for the process of applying product? She says that it is somewhat sensitive but no fungus, when I started filing I saw that there is a hole in the bumpy toe nail(its does not become even when I file on the contrary,it has a valley like hole in the centre)if I dont thin it then it will be kind of high and won't look natural What do I do?
AnswerHi Jas,
If she is not too sensitive I would smooth the nail as much as you can without causing damage.
Also you can build with Pedique so if you can't file the naile down I would suggest applying product to that valley then cure, you might need to do this a few times as Pedique gets warm when it cures and you dont want her toe to get hot! when the product is almost level continue with the rest of the nail as if you are starting fresh. this way you have made the center match the natural before creating the nail.
I hope that makes sense!
Good Luck
