Safe & Natural Nail Alternatives to Bio Sculpture | Expert Reviews

Question
QUESTION: Hi, Keeley. I have the sort of nails that will not survive at any length without some kind of protection. I've been looking into the Bio Sculpture nail product, because there really seems to be no other product as safe and natural on the market. I will admit to my ignorance. I could simply be smitten with Bio Sculpture's lovely website and packaging, so I'd really like to know of any products out there that would be equally as competent. Unfortunately, there are no nail salons in my region that offer Bio Sculpture. Per the advice of the Bio Sculpture company, I've been trying to find a technician who would be willing to use the product. I've called and asked several upscale salons if they might be willing to investigate into the product. While a few have agreed, they end up never calling me back. I'm feeling very frustrated and am wondering if I shouldn't put all of my eggs in one basket. What else might work for me? I really want a product that can just go over my natural nail with no buffing and can be removed easily if necessary. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

ANSWER: Hi Erika

Where are you located, are you in the UK?  There is also another product identical to Biosculpture, it is called Calgel, quite popular in London.  I teach biosculpture at a local college so if you let me know where you are i might be able to help.

QUESTION: Hi, Keeley. Unfortunately, I'm across the ocean in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I've not heard of Calgel. Do you know if it's available in the states? Do you have an opinion on Brisa, Akzentz, En Vogue or Light Elegance? I've been told that these too are good products and that I should be more concerned about the skill of the nail technician than the gel (as long as the gel really is a gel and not acrylic disguised as gel).

Thanks,
Erika

Answer
hi erika

i think calgel is available in the states, but i would go for Brisa, its very good and its distributed by CND (Creative nail design) and yes whoever gave you the advice about the nail tech is spot on, check that they are trained and qualified preferably by CND, if you log on to www.salongeek.com you will find a network of nail techs from all over the world, many in USA, post a thread and you will probably find someone near you or someone will be able to recommend you a good tech.

good luck
