QuestionI am wondering, since I am sure everyone has heard the complaints about getting your nails done, asking for gel, and totally not getting them. Now that I definitely know the difference - can't I report this to the Better Business Bureau or something. It seems like there is definitely something that states 'if you legally purchase a product or service, and they do not provide that service, that is fraud. What do you think. I am just so sick of this. Do they know what they are doing? Charging extra money for "gel nails" when it is the exact same thing that they offer for much less, which is acrylic....
AnswerHi Jennifer!
I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO glad that you have asked this question!!! More people need to report these 'criminals' and 'frauds' for they are endangering the public, in addition to 'ripping them off'.
Having said that, I am in Canada, and appropriate offices vary from country to country, then state to state or province to province as the case may be.
I would first start with the government health board where you are, as these people are endangering people's health. In addition, also contact the better business bureau that's appropriate to your area.
If you are in the states, go to 'beautytech.com' and a tech there will be able to tell you where in your state you need to contact to sort this out.
If you're in canada, there are links on my own site that can tell you who to contact in your province http://ongles-chez-victoria.tripod.com/victoriasnails/id18.html
I urge you to encourage your friends to do the same. Until consumers actively and collectively band together to rid us of these Non Standard Salon's, they will continue to plague us.
Best of luck!
