Understanding 14K GP on a Necklace Tag: What Does It Mean?

I have a necklace that appears to be silver, however, the markings on the tag state, 14k gp.  Can you please tell me what this means.  I appreciate your help. Carole

The 14K means Fourteen Karat Gold or 585 58.5% gold content. The GP is the initials of the maker
