Determining the Age & Value of an Antique Necklace

Question

Necklace
Hello.  I am hoping you can tell me about when this necklace was made.  I got it from my grandmother who was born in 1904 (she passed away a number of years ago so I can't ask her).  It could have come from her mother.  I'm sure the stones and pearls are fake and the chain is not real gold--it looks a little tarnished.  It is about 59" long.  If you think it was made after 1950ish, is it supposed to replicate an earlier style?  I hugely appreciate anything you can tell me.  Thank you!

Answer
Hi, It looks like some of the stones are genuine and the design of the chain link is appropriate to link styles of Victorian times but easily replicated as you may think in the 50's. Examine around the links for any marks that may have information about gold purity, manufacturer. It may be gold filled, but take to an appraiser since I can't see it and get the real story. It is really a nice looking item. Good luck
