Identifying ATL Gold Charms: Is It 10K Gold or Plated?

Question
I've read through several pages of Q&As here but haven't seen anything on charms.  I'm thinking of buying a charm that only has the marking ATL on the back.  The owner says she 'thinks' it is 10K.  I'm thinking gold plated.  I've searched google using every possible combination of "ATL" and 'charm', 'jewelry', 'mark', etc and have come up empty, except that I found this very helpful site!  I've also looked on 'illusions', the site 'OJBMAIN' and 'infomat' mentioned here in another answer about marks.  I'd appreciate anything you could offer.  I don't really want it if it's plated.  There is no "K" of anykind on it, only the ATL.

Answer
Hello Gail and thank you for your inquiry. When purchasing gold it is always important to know your dealer/seller. If the item is not marked, make sure they have had it tested for gold and will guarantee it as such, especially if the marking is unidentifiable. It is not unreasonable to ask the dealer to have it tested prior to your purchase. Hope this helps and sorry I couldn't identify the mark for you.
