Identifying Vintage Jewelry: Understanding 'C' in a Circle & HSK Markings

Question
I have a bracelet from my Grandmother.  It is a woven gold design with some red stones (not sure what these are) and the marking inside the bracelet is the letter C inside a circle and to the right of the circle the letters HSK.  Do you know what this marking means?  Thank You.  Corinne

Answer
Hello Corinne and thank you for your inquiry. The "c" inside a circle means that the name is copyrighted. However,I have not been able to find a listing in my resources for HSK. Are there any other markings such as karat or 14K. If so, it might be worth it to have it appraised by a jeweler or estate jewelry appraiser. Since you know the age of the bracelet it is possible the stones may be garnets. There are online appraisers that work from a good photograph. Use your browser to search for estate jewelry appraisers. Another idea is to search the online auctions such as ebay.com for similar items. Sorry I couldn't give you any further information, but if I find this name in the future, I will let you know. Good luck !
