Identifying Tiffany Jewelry: Understanding Maker Marks

Question
Can you tell me if T & C is a Tiffany makers mark?  I have
seen Tiffany, Tiffany & Co and T & Co, but I'm not sure
about this one.  It is inside a gold ring with diamonds and
sapphires.  If it is not a Tiffany ring, do you know who
the maker might have been?  Thanks.  Kate

Hello Kate and thank you for your inquiry. I have not seen a Tiffany mark of T & C. Most Tiffany marks have the & Co., Tiffany or L.C.T. There is a superimposed T&Co within a larger circle. I have no listings in my resources for a T & C. Sorry I couldn't be of any assistance on this one. You might take it to an estate jewelry appraiser. They sometimes have a vast resource on makers marks. You could get a referral from your local antique shop or museum.
