Decoding Gold Earring Markings: Understanding * 1412 FI

I have a pair of 18k yellow & white gold earrings.  They are marked with a * 1412 FI.  Do you know what these marks mean?  Thank you!

Hi Mary. I would say that might be a company marking or an inventory number. There is no official marking of quality with lettering like that.

I would suggest that you take it to a local Gemologist to put it under a loupe and check. They might also want to check with the manufacturing company asking them if they mark their items like that. Hope this helps.
