Antique Ring Identification: C^A Mark & Orange Stone - Appraisal Help
Question
ring1
I have a ring that I found about 7 years ago. It looks like an antique, but it may not be. I have attached a picture and can send a few more. It's sterling (has 925 stamp inside), kind of looks art-decoish, has a large (probably 5 ct) orange stone that looks like a mandarine garnet, and has 6 small diamonds around the 4-pronged setting. It has the following mark inside: C^A. I would like to see if you have any idea who made this ring or how old/new it may be.
AnswerThank you for your inquiry. I haven't been able to locate a manufacturer CA except one that is written conjoined inside a diamond shape - This is Chas. Armsheimer & Son of New York City and they were active in the 1930's. I would advise you to take your ring to a jeweler or estate jewelry appraiser if you need a valuation. Age is difficult to tell unless you can locate the manufacturer and there is a design number. Rings are still being made in the period styles i.e. Art Deco, Victorian but an appraiser might have more information on the mark. Sorry I couldn't be of more help on this but you do have a beautiful ring !
