Decoding Gold Ring Stamps: 14K, R&S, and 1470 Explained

I have a ring that was my great grandmother.  its has a green stone and it stamped 14k r&s or K&s i can't tell and it also as a stamp 1470 on it. If you can please tell me what these stamps mean I would be grateful.

Hello Jennifer. I apologize for not getting back sooner but I have had some computer problems. Your ring appears to be 14K gold. The letter designations r&s, K&s are probably the manufacturer and the 1470 could be a design number. In order to find out more, you would need to know the actual letters. Sometimes a close up photograph will make them more visible. Hope this helps and enjoy your ring !
