Identifying the Age & Value of Your Silver Ring with Stones
QuestionI have a silver ring with stones in the only mark i can find is the word silver can you tell me what age you think this ring might be it has a red stone in the center and what looks like two diamonds at each side of the red stone not sure if stones are real the diamond like stones do have a grey tone to them any information would be helpful as ring needs repaired and not sure if it is worth paying the repairing cost.
AnswerHi there Jennifer, Sounds like the ring is made in silver but not sterling silver. Perhaps from Mexico or South America or else just a ring made from an artisan of type here in the States. The diamond like stones are probably cz or another type simulant if they look discolored. the red stone could be synthetic or possibly Rubeilte (red tourmaline) but i highly doubt it since the cost of this stone usually prohibits makers putting it in silver. The best bet for you is to take it a local jeweler and get it tested for its metal purity, and check the stones for their authenticity, Good luck.
