Identifying a Sterling Silver Jasper Pin with Cursive Signature

Question

sterling silver jasper
I recently purchased this sterling silver pin (picture attached) with what I believe is a Mary Ellen jasper stone. It is cursive signed, but for the life of me I cannot read it.  It seems to end in wilz or nunz.  It is very quality made and the word "Sterling" is printed below three sterling formed solid circles.  It measures 2 by 2 1/4.  Any ideas?  It is very unusual.  Thanks for your expertise and experience.
Thanks.
Sultana

Answer
Hello Sultana and thank you for your inquiry. Your stone does look very much like Mary Ellen Jasper. Very pretty ! It would be difficult to venture a guess as to the designer without an actual visual of the marking. You might check with the seller for more information on where they acquired the piece. I did find an interesting site with Mary Ellen jasper. Just copy and paste the below url into your browser address field and hit enter:

I'll keep checking on the solid circles with sterling mark and let you know if I find anything. Sorry I couldn't be of further assistance at this time but enjoy your beautiful pin !
