Identifying Antique Brooches: Age & Value Guide

Question
my mother recently died aged 91 and she kept lots of things from her childhood which was in the war years when little was around.  their is a broach, its on a silver bar stamped sterling silver dangling from it in a sort of brass color as three  roses and on a chair two leaves i don't think its worth anything but i would like to know the age if possible.

Answer
Hello Kathryn and thank you for your inquiry.  It sounds like you have a nice charm pin. These were popular around the turn of the century and again in the 1940's. Some were sterling and others were gold or gold-filled. It is nice that yours is marked sterling. These are collectible and market value would depend on condition and visual appeal. You could search for charm pin on one of the online auctions for an idea of value.  Of course, nothing could replace the sentimental value. Hope this helps and enjoy your pin !
