Identifying & Valuing Antique Basket Brooches with Flowers

Question
i have 2. both are basket shaped with flowers. 1 is silver in color with red, yellow, orange, white, blue and pink painted flowers. the leaves are painted green. it was given to me by my fathers significant other. she said she got it from my dads relative that said it was my dads mothers. she died at about 24 when my dad was about 2. my dad was born in 1925 so assuming it had to be around before that. the other is gold in color and has 3 red ruby colored stones and 4 smaller pink colored stones. this was also given to me by my dads significant other. she said it belonged to her mother. i'm guessing around the same era since they both have the basket theme which must have been a popular style??? what ever info you can offer would be great. i am very sentimental so more less looking for era and worth for my own satisfaction. thanks!

Hi Tracey,
So many flower basket motifs were produced during that 1920-1930 era, especially in the pin/brooch category since its style was popularized by Presedential wives of the day and the "flapper" era. They were also used widely in mourning rituals by the well-to-do. Obviously without seeing them it it hard to assess a value. Do the items have any makers marrks on them or etchings that signify whether they are gold (10k,14k,18k) or silver (Sterl., .925)? This would help me greatly in attaining some reasonable value for you. Let me know. Thanks.
