QuestionHi Rolfe
I have a pair of earings given me by my sister who received them as a gift from an Arabian patient in a private London hospital and having found tiny markings on the back we wonder if they are of value. They are heartshaped, in silver setting. A row of clear stones (?cubic zirconia) forms the outside heart, with an inner silver polished narrow strip of metal forming a second heart, with a loop at the top surrounded by a further 6 stones. The frontlooks a little coarse by English standards but the workmanship at the back looks definitely Middle Eastern. Tiny markings at the top on the back, either side of the butterfly stud, read JJT C.Z.. At the bottom of the heart is 625. The letters are tiny but with a magnifying glass, we think this is what they read. I assume C.Z. is cubic zirconia.
Are you able to tell us what the markings may mean please?
Phyllis
AnswerHello Phyllis,
CZ most likley means cubic zirconia and the JJT may be the designer or silversmith..
625 I dont know .925 is sterling silver...if it is cubic zirconia, I doubt it has much value..
bring it to two reputable jewelers first hand..
