QuestionHello
I have a Men 14k gold irish history ring that was purchased in Ireland Approx a size ten with 10 symbols..minus the potatoe farmers symbol and has only one question mark.
Inside the ring it is printed (Made in Ireland 14k) Then there is a Marking that is (SD then I believe a golden harp & #585) I wished to know what SD and the golden harp stands for..and perhaps the approx value of the ring.
Thank you, C.J.C.
AnswerHello CJC. I apologize for not getting back sooner but I have had some computer problems. Your ring sounds beautiful. I have listed below a site that will give you Ireland markings for silver as well as gold. You may be able to match up your mark there. Just copy and paste the url into your browser address field and hit enter:

Also here is an interesting site for Irish history rings.

In order to value your ring, since it is gold, you would need to have a gram weight and check the daily gold prices for the gold value. You might check some of the sites online that offer these rings for their retail price. An official appraisal would have to come from either an estate jewelry appraiser or you could use one of the online appraisal sites such as "What's It Worth To You".
Hope this helps and enjoy your ring
