Identifying Vintage Enamel Pin with Star Hallmark - Russia?

Question
I bought a pin at a thrift store.  It looks like it is enamel and stones.  It looks very old.  On the back are holes where the stones are set and in the upper corner is a tiny star as the hallmark.  Any idea on what I have.  I read somewhere the star means Russia.  Help, Melissa

Answer
Hello Melissa and thank you for your inquiry. The star mark is used for silver marking in Russia but it is usually used in conjunction with a number. I have listed a site below that may be able to offer you some further research.  Just click on the link or copy and paste it into your browser address field and hit enter.  There is a special section under "World Marks" for Russian markings.  Hope this helps and enjoy your brooch !
