Decoding Gold Ring Hallmarks: Understanding SH, Crown & More

Question
I have a gold ring, The Hallmarks from left to right are SH, Crown, 22, Anchor (End pointing towards the 22)

I am just wondering whether the SH could be meaning H Samuel, the high street shop. SH is the right way up, as the top of the crown and the 22 the correct way up.

If it is instead a SH, who made the ring?

Thanks

Answer
Hi Axle,

The "SH" is the makers mark and more than likely is "H Samuel". The "crown" stands for 18K Gold, the anchor is also the stamp for gold. The "22" is unknown to me. These are all UK hallmark stamps. the makers mark of SH can be looked up on line for the manufacturer. Thanks and good luck,
Peter
