Identifying Your Mexican Sterling Silver Cross Pendant - TM'90 Mark

Question
I have a silver cross pendant that has the stamp TM'90 on it.
the left side of the cross has .925 and the right has M6 and a symbol looking like an X. Please let me know if there is any importance of this cross. Thanks.

Answer
Thank you for your inquiry. Your cross is Mexican sterling made in Taxco probably by a silversmith by the name of Casados. The mark you have indicates TM (Taxco artist last or first name begins with "M" and they were the 90th registrant for that mark who happens to be Casados.) The other markings could be further artist markings or MX could simply mean Mexico.
Tihs information comes from "The Little Book of Mexican Silver Trade and Hallmarks" by Bille Hougart and you may find a copy in your local library for further reading.  Hope this helps !
